Recipe for White Tea Matcha Smoothie
It's tempting to want to drink 2 or 3 cups of coffee in the morning to get you going. But even though coffee contains no fat or carbs, excess coffee can lead to weight gain.
Here's the short explanation how: caffeine stimulates the adrenals, two almond shaped glands that rest on your kidneys. The adrenal glands release cortisol, the so-called 'stress hormone.' Continually asking the adrenals to release cortisol eventually makes your adrenals struggle to deal with stress and consequently messes up your metabolism, potentially leading to weight gain.
So take it easy on the coffee.
Now that we have that lecture out of the way, let' give you a simple recipe for a morning smoothie that should give you some long-lasting energy and help with weight loss. It won't feel like a slap in your face zinger like drinking 2 cups of coffee, but remember, what goes up must go down; better to go through each day with steady energy so you won't succumb to tempting cravings.
Use Miracle Matcha White Tea Powder for some filling fiber, antioxidants and a small amount of caffeine.
Here's what the powder looks like:
You only need 1/2 a teaspoon to get 3X the antioxidants that a serving of green tea has!
Add these other ingredients to your smoothie:
--1/2 cup plain yogurt
--1 tbsp of honey or a packet of Stevia
--if you prefer chilled, add ice cubes
--for some extra natural fat (remember: dietary fat in moderation is good for you and helps prevent cravings!), add a spoonful of almond butter (preferably NOT roasted, as roasting kills off some of the nutrition)
--a handful of blueberries for extra antioxidants (though you won't it because Miracle Matcha has the most polyphenol antioxidants of any tea on the planet!)
Blend. Pour in portable mug/glass. Slip slowly. Enjoy!
